Stupidity burns. It burns those who get too close to it, even as it consumes its source. Times like that you wish you had a firehose handy in order to put it out, but stupidity conflagrations are like EV fires; they're very difficult to extinguish.

Nicely stated. In the navy, this would be classified a Class D (Delta) fire.

I admire your restraint!

Safety valves may pop at any moment.

Just picture yourself emptying a full 30 round 'clip' into these masks, then remarking it didn't do the tile any good at all. Sacrifices have to be made!

Kitsune, Maskless Crusader.'s avatar

That helps though imaging a bayonet thrust or a shomen Uchi cut to the head are a bit more satisfying to me. No need to sacrifice the tile either.

Classic narcissist. One who puts her feelings above the economic well being of others who depend on tourism to live.

Kitsune, Maskless Crusader.'s avatar

Yep. Broader than that though. My first thought was she was spewing this was for all those who lost their livelihoods during the lockdowns lite forced upon us. Then she gave her reason and I focused upon the tourism industry.

When most imagine evil, they summon up images of demons or Hitler, Stalin and the like. Few realize that it is often hid behind a friendly and bubbly personality.

I know what you mean. She would have informed the Nazis the whereabouts of Anne Frank in an instant.

Kitsune, Maskless Crusader.'s avatar

Damned right she would have and would have with a smile and a giggle.

Even for a doughnut.

Kitsune, Maskless Crusader.'s avatar

I think she would do so even without the proffered donut.

About a month and a half following Lockdowns, I was invited to a karaoke party. It had been the first time with the group since the pandemic began. I remember walking among them in the living room and being annoyed at a moment that someone was in my way. then I stopped myself and started tearing up because someone was in my way. It was glorious to be inconvenienced because we were together.

This person sounds like the same one that will lecture you on being selfish for not wearing a mask. On Twitter today someone was stated "Those of you who brag about not following the miitgations, just realize you are probably responsible for someone's death."

My reply: "If you believe that not following the mandates that did not work, then based on pre covid, we are all responsible for someone's death and should turn ourselves in."

The first paragraph of this comment speaks volumes about what they did to us.

I had a similar exchange early on on Quora. I responded with telling them to not even try to guilt trip anyone on this, that they themselves have on probably more than one occasion be a link in the chain of flu transmission that lead to the death of someone. That is how viruses work and there is nothing we can do about it. Their response, silence.

I have said this before, and I probably should have it on as a loop, but the very people who claim to be "following the science" are ridiculous on moral high horsing there points across. Today I was talking to one person about measles. Measles that before the vaccine was introduced according to the CDC's own data own killed 500 people per year in the US. They want to scare the f out of people over 500 people dying a year. If someone told me I had a 500 out of 330 million chance of dying to measles...adjusting for population difference from the 1960's and the new treatments available for the unvaccinated, I'd say "I'll take my chances with the measles."

Their response was "So you are so callous that you don't care about 500 children."

Kitsune, Maskless Crusader.'s avatar

I have had similar responses. They fail to understand we are not responsibly for what happens naturally but are for each and every adverse effect from our actions and mandating vaccinations is a human action that we are responsible for the results of.

Kitsune, Maskless Crusader.'s avatar

Aisy! Be careful, I was a sailor.

Fayanne's avatar

funny thing about that ....after my Mums marriage to my Royal Marine father ended Mum said "never EVER marry a sailor" then she promptly married a Canadian sailor who brought us all to Canada!!

"Have you considered changing career to a hikko instead of a nurse?" - would be my response.

It's like those girls claiming they *need* a lot of money because they *need* to live in California...

Kitsune, Maskless Crusader.'s avatar

On this I must confess complete ignorance. I am clueless about what you are referring to.

Kim's avatar

Hikko as in hikikomori, 'to withdraw and seclude', probably.

Honestly, I were mostly annoyed at the thought of her wishing for the whole of society to shut down just so she can be comfortable with her choice of living in a big city.

Kitsune, Maskless Crusader.'s avatar

Ah. Hikikomori I am familiar with. In fact, I want to be one now as I am sick of dealing with mad maskers. My esteemed college at this event just wants fewer people in her way as she enjoys the delights of Japan. Neither she nor I are medically trained, we both tech English to medical students. I learned last week that she is not returning for the new school year. So unless she is stopping by for the kick off meeting tomorrow to say “good bye”, it is doubtful we will cross paths again.
