My take on it: If you want the gov't to take care of you, then the gov't will take care of you. That doesn't necessarily mean you'll need what the gov't insists that you do, nor that you'll like what the gov't gives you, nor that any of it makes a lick of sense. Expect looooooong waiting times and less than courteous treatment. For genuine emergencies, you'll want some cash.
I'm old enough to remember Hilary Clinton's attempt to solve US health care. Huh. She was then First Lady and avowedly uninterested in baking cookies. That is, by a country mile, the kindest thing I have to say about it.
Agree 100%, however, those who want the government to take care of them from cradle to grave demand that we help them pay for it, whether we want it or not, then blame us for substandard care.
One of the many reasons not to vote for Hillary in 2016 was what she put up with as a wife and first lady of the President. I think in many ways she saw her husband as a "loss leader" for her coming into power. It's obvious she had an arrangement with him. My problem with her was...if she could allow him to act the way he did around other women, what would she be willing to allow to happen to her country while she was in power?
Kind of reminds me of an oversimplified answer I use to give when asked what is the biggest difference between Chinese and Japanese culture.
My response was that Chinese and American behavior is typically more similar to each other than to Japanese behavior. If there is no law against it, anything goes. In Japan, you first need legal permission to do anything.
It appears the majority of us are being herded into a combination of the Chinese Social Credit system, and with Japanese expectations regarding compliance to authority.
Meh ... or should I say "baaa"?
Perhaps that is exactly what the majority want?
I was never much into the mob rule aspect of democracy, but under this veneer-thin authoritarian illusion of democracy is even more infuriating.
I use traffic lights in Japan and the US to illustrate this point. It has been a while, over three years (Wonder why?), so I may now be a bigot fuzzy on this, but here it goes.
I do not recall ever seeing a green light and a green turn arrow lit at the same time in the US. It may be used somewhere in the States but it is not universal. However, we see both a green light and green turn arrow lit at the some time often in Japan. Why? In the US, unless specifically prohibited, we are allowed to do it whereas in Japan, unless specifically permitted, we are forbidden from doing it.
However, with all the regulations and massive increase in licensing requirements for jobs in the States now, I am not sure the above is true in the States anymore.
A lot has been written on how restrictive Japanese society is and how different it is from even most other Asian societies. Korea seems to me, from what little experience I have had with them, more similar to Japanese than Chineses.
Reading the article, something stood out at me...this isn't a power grab by government alone, it is also the corporate/government again looking for profits. Now, they are going to demand that farmers take costly prescriptions for their animals. Forget demanding that every man, woman, and child get vaccinated, we want all animals to be properly vaccinated/drugged as well.
There was also a suggestion that this is a response for people who were buying ivermectin for animals...but actually using it themselves.
Yep. This is the very definition as fascism; Corporations are use by the government to bypass legal restraints to get what it wants and the corporations get handsomely rewarded for being co-opted. This is why corporation after corporation are lining up in support of LGBTQWTFO despite seeing the massive losses those before them have take. It doesn’t matter that they are losing customers, the government will make it up, one way or another.
In the mean time, this will cause a further reduction in worldwide food supply as the cost to ranchers/farmers will be too high for many and they will quit the business, as we have seen chicken farmers in Japan do over feed prices, reducing supply which add to the now increased costs that are passed on to consumers. Another attack on our ability to acquire food. Meanwhile, how much do you want to bet that they have factories cranking out food made from bugs and artificial meat that will be ready to meet demand shortly after all our normal food runs out?
We had adults minding the store then during Hillary Care. That's another part of it. They know if they keep pushing and pushing, like water on a shore, eventually it can not only erode sand, but stone. Which is why, every so often the old structure needs to be dismantled and a new one installed in its place.
Greta analogy. That is also part of the plan, dismantling the old and “Building back better”. These crises are all artificial. Their combined purpose is to destroy everything and leave the survivors cold, hungry and sick so that they (We?) will accept whatever they give us.
Hilary Care! Most had forgotten about that, but I didn't. I wrote several long letters to the various offices letting them know of not only patients, but health care providers traveling due to emergencies (of which I was one having a license in 3 states). Never received but a form letter in response.
My legislative efforts go back to the South Carolina Statehouse, where I once, as a student at the USC College of Pharmacy, met with Senator Thurmond on the steps, he was off to unknown locations, about the price increases in health care. "We don't care, it's only 3% of the budget, young man." I replied "You will give a damn when it's 15%, sir." He just threw his hand up and waved me away.
Those parasites care only about what they have to do to stay in power. This includes creating problems while avoiding blame for them so that they can appropriate money towards “solving” the problems in perpetuity.
I hate to say but the elixir of state provided benefits is too great. The vast majority of people are more than willing to give up their rights for the "promise" of free stuff.
Thanks for the comment and the link. I saw the post and trying to create an opportunity to watch the podcast. Can’t do it on the street and my wife now works from home and any videos distracting. Do want to see it though.

Great points. For me, her policies were based enough.
The Clinton Body Count was horrifying enough for me.
And there’s that.

Looking forward to the next beer.
We have LOTS to talk about.
Cheers buddy.

The evidence indicates that you are correct.
Thanks Kitsune. Clarification indeed!
I wondered just how daft the world had become. Then found this in my wandering wonderings.
