AI certainly is disrupting a lot of businesses. But think about this, a lot of jobs, especially the ones that are of low skills, could easily be taken over by AI, and not just them, but I doubt there are very few industries that will be spared an AI revolution of some sort. So the question might occur to young kids, "If I work hard in school, get great grades, and still can't get a job due to AI, then what good is this?

And I do know that it is not just in Japan. AI, as the covid response, is a truly world wide phenomenon. That is telling, in my view anyway.
The importation of unskilled labor is just to fill current need until automation replaces them too. In Japan’s case, it makes a certain sense. There are simply not enough children being born here. Generations of rock stupid government policies have disincentivized procreation and they now have little choice but to either allow society to collapse or import labor. Still, they could do so in a more beneficial manner but these are the mental midgets that caused the problem in the first place, so what should expect from these blacked out lamps?
