What to say; best of luck to you all.

On the bright side, the Japanese tax institutions haven't bought a ton of military grade weaponry like what the IRS has done.

"a government official said otherwise", truly the most trustworthy individuals on Earth those.

Yep, that’s the physical presence test. “Snow birds” from Canada have been subjected to this for a number of years. However, technically, those who spend too much time in the US are “US Persons”. While there is not a single definition for “US person” it is known to include at a minimum US citizens, US Green Card holders, not resident aliens (wrap your head around that!), resident aliens and those who meet the “presence test”.

(Sorry, it became a rant. I think there's a point in there, somewhat. Hard to say with these bloody small text boxes.)

Every time I learn something new about the feds I. Well, there's really no words for it.

Looking from the outside, the founding fathers seem to have been as gullible as Trump in thinking that the majority actually care for their nation. They certainly couldn't imagine that the citizens would allow the festering bureaucracy to grow towards requiring a Form XXXX for wiping ones ass, or that the same would cheer on the burning of their own country for that matter.

Thinking about it, in discussions regarding their current attempts to co-opt video games & anime, it has been pointed out that the normies, i.e. the majority, don't really care for truth, justice, or decency.

They only care for what they think the majority thinks is normal.

That explains very well what you're seeing in your teaching position; as being 'educated' has become normal they, and I don't mean a singular united 'they' group here, co-opted this institution as a tool for shaping the view of what 'normal' is, just like TV, the newspaper, and Hollywood.

The 'normal people' don't go there to learn, they go because it's what expected; because it's considered 'normal'.

So, trying to convince these people won't work. Instead one would have to focus their efforts on-towards those who control such institutions, or set up alternative such institutions.

In the end, it only takes 2 or 3 cooperating individuals to take over an organization of thousands as the commies so nicely taught us.

For U.S. residency calculation purposes, a day is considered to be a calendar day, not a 24-hour period! For example, if you enter the U.S. at 11:00 pm one night and return to Canada at 1:00 am the next morning, it counts as spending two days in the U.S. even though you were only there for 2 hours.

So simply by arriving an hour early and leaving an hour late a couple of times one could fall into this category. Splendid!

The one point I disagree with here is that the founding fathers were gullible. They knew. They knew all you pint out here and more. Leavings a meeting in which he participated in formatting the government, Benjamin Franklin was asked, “What kind of government did you give us?” To which he reported to have replied, “A republic, if you can keep it.” There is a reason that the right to keep and bear arms is the 2nd amendment of the bill of rights. That is the right that is too come in to play as soon as the first, freedom of speech, is threatened. We have just grown to chicken shit to use this or come to the aid of those who are not.

All US regulations can be summed up in the straight forward way we did in the navy which means profanity is included. All are trick me fauci me situations. It is all a trap. Every single resident of the US violates multiple federal laws in the normal course of a single day. That way, when one gets to successful in raising a ruckus against the powered that be, they have ample violation to lock you up for a very long time. Very single person who used email can be locked up for wire fraud for something and simple as reporting the temperature in your location to a friend or family member. You reading of the thermometer of from the local news service is not the same as the source the feds use and this discrepancy can get you charged and incarcerated for wire fraud if you communicate it over any wire service.

This and other dirty tricks are not new which is why I keep stating we should have gone weapons free decades ago. Now, we have gone full on banana republic with the convection of T on Trumped up charges as if some cosmic comedic author is penning the screenplay of our life.

The founding fathers gave us all the tools needed to prevent this, and failing that, roll it back. We just have been too cowed to use what they left us.

"if you can keep it", fair point. They gave the inhabitants the option to choose (and the vast majority has ended up not even choosing for themselves).

Freedom is such a conundrum when the majority is like this.

In the beginning, we were taught to jealousy guard our freedoms, and for a while we did. With each successive generation, we took them more and more for granted. We expected the law to protect us as if it were on auto pilot. We just happen to live at the time it all comes crashing down because too many for too long have not cherished the rare gift we were bequeathed.

Suggest opening an account in a 3rd country where it can’t be drained by local government.

Can’t. That would be reported to the US through FATCA, reportable by me through FBAR (if the aggregate of my account reached a certain threshold. They do not now, but would have when I most needed the procreation, my employers cannot deposit to a bank account out side Japan, and now that the OECD’s Common Reporting Standards have been adopted, unless the 3rd country was not an OECD member, this would be reported to all OECD member countries. Those are just the issues that come off the top of my head. There are others.

Why can you not bring your family with you?

Additionally, it will be had for me to go back. I no longer have a drivers license that is valid in the US. My credit cards or from Japanese banks. I have no credit nor driving histories in the US I have been away so long. I will be returning, if (When?) it comes to that jobless and homeless and virtually penniless without any credit or driving history. How can I support a family under such circumstances?

Would you want to bring your kids to the U.S. now, with the crime and LGBTQWTFO and woke agendas in the classroom and the crime? Beyond that, not my decision. Wife is Japanese and needs a visa to enter and stay unless for only a short duration. US law requires our kids to use a U.S. passport, which they do not have. They will be allowed to enter but not leave on their Japanese passports. They do not speak English as I am the only native speaker of the language in their daily lives. I do not get to spend anywhere near enough time with them to aid them in its acquisition, and they don’t care to learn it anyway. At least not from their dad.
