At this moment I am sitting in a clinic with my 9 year old who has had diarrhea for a week and had a fever for a couple of days last week. He still has a cough, though not as bed nor as often as before, instead sneezing has moved in to prominence. The cough began when he was still required to mask in school. Masking didn’t stop what ever is causing the cough.
On our way to the clinic, I asked if the other students are still wearing masks. Beside my kid, only one other student our of a class of 31 is NOT wearing a mask. The teacher is still wearing a mask. WHEN THE HELL CAN MY KID HEAR THE SPOKEN WORD WITHOUT THE INTERFERENCE OF A MASK? 3 FUCKING YEARS IS NOT ENOUGH? May heaven have mercy on any one foolish enough to tell me to mask up at school tomorrow, I won’t.
I fear my replies may not reflect this, but please know all those who have commented, your remarks were well received and help more than can be expressed.
There are a few I have not yet replied to. It is late here. For the first time in three years and three months I have to get at 6am to make a 9am class. Everything is packed and thrice checked. am enjoying my last beer for the night and a stick of exceptionally exquisite Japanese incense before the shower and rack. Much calmer than I had dared hoped, just before retiring for the night. Thank you all for indulging in me getting this off my chest before I exploded.
I pray you don't get made a martyr of for the same of this foolishness. Kids do get sick sometimes I believe it is nature's healing way. But with politics injected I pray the hospital protocols are better than in the USA!
