Tech regression in my home has arrived in full. Yesterday the dishwasher finally died. Cleaning it no longer convinces the water level sensor to do its task. Kaput. Environmental requirements have driven most appliance makers from the dishwasher market. The few offered by the remaining manufacturers are crazy expensive and take far too long to wash a ridiculously undersized load. Thankfully, the drier still works. So now I wash dishes by hand and then fill up the dish washer to dry them. Progress……NOT.
Another bit of fun news that came in yesterday was in an email from the med school that just informed us of the requirement to mask for the 5th school year in a row. While elective classes will be held in person this year (they were over Zoom these past 4 years), if too many apply to a class it will be held online to maintain unsocial distancing. The school did finally remove the barriers between seats in the large and enclosed cafeteria but not in the small but open student lounge so (but?) this came as a complete surprise to me. This is a medical school, for cryin’ out loud.
Forgive that last statement, for it is in error. This is at a “medical” school, a vastly different entity from a real, medical school. Are there any real medical schools in existence, anywhere? This not a flippant question. From Dr. Mercola today. “Doctor’s Errors Now Deadlier Than Disease?”. This too is not a new development, but the signs should now be undeniable to all, yet most will deny them as they do with all issues.
Meanwhile, I will be listening to sea shanties, forecastle songs, fife and drum and other field music to prepare for this year’s kick off meeting at the med school this coming Wednesday. Skipped it last year over the mask mandate. While I did not wear a mask, I thought it prudent to not parade around the place unmasked. This year, on parade I shall be, perhaps even pass in review.
Kitsune....Thank YOU so much. It's the one that you sent. Again, it went to SPAM. I'm just keeping it there. I can still read it. Thanks so much. Take Care and Keep in Touch :-)
Kitsune....Can you somehow send me the explanation about what you think happened with
the Francis Scott Key Bridge incident? When you email a substack, it goes to my SPAM.
I wonder why :-( We know why! I get many emails a day and sometimes it's hard to find
when sent to my Inbox. You wrote such a nice write-up. It's Saturday morning here and
busy. So, I didn't have time to read what your wrote. I know it was very detailed :-)
Thank YOU :-)
